Crystalline structure and magnetic properties of pyrite FeS<sub>2</sub>

Iron pyrite (FeS2) has attracted significant attention as a promising inorganic material in various applications, such electrode materials for high-energy batteries, medical diagnostics, semiconductor materials, and photovoltaic solar cells. In this study, we characterized the crystalline structure magnetic properties of FeS2 using X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometry, Mössbauer spectroscopy. The refined XRD patterns confirmed that was cubic (Pa-3 space group) with lattice constant a0 = 5.417 Å. temperature dependence zero-field-cooled field-cooled curves hysteresis loops were measured at temperatures between 4.2 295 K. spectra collected range 4.2–500 K fitted one doublet. ?EQ values increased slightly decreasing owing to changes Fe–S distance. charge state determined be Fe2+ based on isomer shift (?).
